Like the materials for the finalists, the materials for the school visitors need to be sorted and prepared. Volunteer activities include: Organising the materials for the Teacher Education Kits; and filling each school’s Education Kit with the correct amount of supplies.

The finalists get to do a variety of Lab Experiences with the University of Alberta. Volunteers will assist in splitting finalists into the appropriate groups for their labs. Volunteer activities Include: Directing finalists who are unsure of which lab experience they are a part of.

Whether in the Project Zone, STEM Expo, or at one of the special events, the greeters are an important part of making everyone feel welcome. Volunteer activities include: Greeting and welcoming finalists, delegates and visitors as they enter the space; monitoring the overall capacity of the space and alerting a Team UV member if you are concerned about exceeding the safe capacity of the space; and being available to answer questions or give directions to other spaces.

You must be over the age of 18 to participate in this volunteer shift. Join the finalists and delegates as they go on tours to Fort Edmonton Park and the Telus World of Science. Help to support the tour guide and members of Team UV on this fun day out! Volunteer activities may include: Contacting members of Team UV with any issues that may arise; and assisting in getting everyone on and off the bus.
