These shifts are in the days leading up to the CWSF before our participants arrive. Volunteer activities include: Unpacking CWSF supplies and materials; organising and filling swag bags for finalists and delegates; sorting nametags and CWSF t-shirts for finalists and delegates; and preparing supplies for use during project set-up.

Volunteers will greet participants as they arrive on campus. These shifts have bursts of activity and moments of calm depending on the travel schedules of participants. Volunteer activities include: Greeting finalists and delegates as they arrive; and distributing swag bags and name tags to delegates from each region.

12:30 PM - 5:00 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. Volunteers—with the support of a member of Team UV—will assist participants and visitors at the Project Zone Information Booth. Volunteer activities include: Being available to answer questions or give directions to other spaces; and assist with the Lost & Found area as needed.
12:30 PM - 5:00 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. Volunteers will assist participants as needed throughout the Project Zone while they are setting up their posters and projects. Volunteer activities include: Roaming the Project Zone and assisting participants with hanging posters and other relevant set-up as needed; and once they are set up, asking participants about their projects and actively listening to their presentations.
12:30 PM - 3:15 PM
During Project Set-Up and Take-Down, CWSF provides various tools such as scissors, rulers and tape. Volunteer activities include: Distributing various tools and supplies to participants; and receiving tools and supplies and ensuring they are in working order.

7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. The Judges’ day starts bright and early. Volunteers will help set them up for a successful day at CWSF. Volunteer activities include: Greeting and welcoming judges as they arrive onsite; and distributing nametags, clipboards, and judging materials.
8:15 AM - 1:15 PM
Whether in the Project Zone, STEM Expo, or at one of the special events, the greeters are an important part of making everyone feel welcome. Volunteer activities include: Greeting and welcoming finalists, delegates and visitors as they enter the space; monitoring the overall capacity of the space and alerting a Team UV member if you are concerned about exceeding the safe capacity of the space; and being available to answer questions or give directions to other spaces.
2:15 PM - 4:30 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. While the finalists are in judging, the delegates will be busy with fun-filled activities. Volunteer activities include: Set-up and run small activities such as scavenger hunts.

The finalists get to do a variety of Lab Experiences with the University of New Brunswick. Volunteers will ensure they make it to and from these experiences on time. Volunteer activities Include: Leading finalists to and from their Lab Experiences around campus; and remaining present during the lab tours and alerting a member of Team UV if there are any issues.
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Like the materials for the finalists, the materials for the school visitors need to be sorted and prepared. Volunteer activities include: Organising the materials for the Teacher Education Kits; and filling each school’s Education Kit with the correct amount of supplies.

7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. Join the finalists and delegates as they go on various bus tours. Help to support the tour guide and members of Team UV on this fun day out! Please note, you will need to be available for the entire duration of the shift as you will be bussing away from the point of origin.
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. Our STEM Expo exhibitors will need help setting up and taking down their booths. Volunteer activities include: Some heavy lifting to assist exhibitors; moving materials for Exhibitors and assisting in preparing their booths.
1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign-up. Like the materials for the finalists, the materials for the school visitors need to be sorted and prepared. Volunteer activities may include: Welcoming schools as they come off their buses and directing them to the Registration Desk; checking in schools at the Registration Desk and distributing Teacher Education Kits; being available to answer questions or give directions to other spaces; relieving Exhibitors for short breaks (e.g. washroom) from their booths as needed; and greeting and welcoming finalists, delegates and visitors as they enter a space.
8:45 AM - 2:30 PM
*Must be over the age of 18 to sign up. Volunteers will be assisting members of Team UV at the CWSF Merchandise Store. Volunteer activities include: Selling CWSF merchandise to finalists, delegates, and visitors; operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and taking card and cash payments; restocking shelves with new inventory; and inventory of stock as needed.
